A Few Initial Thoughts:
I just listened to an extensive interview with Kevin Kisner. He’s one of my favorites and he also happens to be the most expensive golfer this week.
In this interview, he discussed things near and dear to my heart: Quail Hollow, course conditions, and wind. There very last question was, “What do you think golf analysts/press could do better?” Here’s his (bastardized, in his honor) answer:
A lot of people don’t understand “conditions”, and they don’t get how drastic the wind…and… wind direction changes everything; I’ll give DeMeglio (USA TODAY)…the media, shit because they don’t cover how the course changes day to day, they think we should be scoring birdies every hole, and fail to realize that course conditions change, they just think that we should make birdie every single hole and don’t understand why we do certain things to get through a round.
I know that I got tired of talking about wind back in March during the Texas swing when weather calls from the DFS community weren’t really working out.
