NHL Power Plays 4/7/2018

First things first, it is Saturday which has a 14 game main slate. Our focus is on the main as always. However, in the Slack chat, there will be picks and strategy all day and all evening up until lock.

Injuries are a theme in the early going and watch to see who was banged up from the weekend. Goalie confirmations for quite a few will come later in the day. The games start at 7:00 pm ET. Please remember that some teams are resting players, and some are just tinkering with lineups, while others do a little of both.

Teams On The Back End Of A Back To Back (Main Slate)

Buffalo Sabres
Tampa Bay Lightning
Ottawa Senators
Chicago Blackhawks
St. Louis Blues
Anaheim Ducks
Dallas Stars

Let’s get into the centers of attention on this night. There will be more emphasis on values. However, in our picks, there will be more of the usual choices. The goal is to mix more value in this evening. Even with a bigger slate, a good amount of chalk exists. Some chalk will have to be played. Please note the slight format change due to the high amount of volatility for tonight’s slate.

Casey Mittlestadt ($3300 on DK, $3600 on FanDuel)

There is something different in the air. That is right. Mittlestadt has four points in five games since being signed. He has held his own in some sheltered minutes. The Buffalo center gets a plus match-up against Florida’s depth, which allowed tons of chances to Boston on Thursday night. Value GPP plays and even cash plays are vital tonight. The rookie is going to get a good bit of ice time, and Florida may not have anything to play for (Philadelphia gets a point and that is it).
