BOLD = Back to Back
Third game in four nights *
Jack Eichel – BUF @ DAL – $6,900
Lately it seems that Eichel is putting up multi points every other game, but tonight he might be able to break that streak playing against the Stars. This game is going to be the battle of the two worst penalty kills and it is definitely possible that a game stack could pay off handsomely. Eichel is leading the league in shots on net per game firing over four shots a game. Dallas gives up the fifth most scoring chances against per 60 in the league, and Eichel could capitalize on that tonight along with the extra man advantage. Stacking the two top power play units could be a great play tonight.
John Tavares – NYI vs MON – $7,100
Tavares seems to be matchup proof lately and has caught fire with five multi point games in his last seven played. Tavares is shooting the puck a ton and the team is leaning heavily on him for offense, as the Isles are lacking depth. Tavares also loves playing at home as he has 25 of his 38 points at home. If you’re looking for a lower owned stud, Tavares is your guy.
Kyle Turris – OTT vs CGY – $5,700
Turris has been playing solid hockey with eight points in his last ten. His shot volume has been steady and that’s a good sign. Turris also doesn’t mind blocking a shot or two and in dfs that helps us tally points. The Flames are in a losing skid right now having lost their last four games, and they have been making costly errors, look for Turris to turn it up tonight. The over has hit in every contest in the past seven meetings, so there should be enough goals to go around. In the last five meeting the Senators have scored 20 goals for an average of four per game. Ottawa is a hard team to stack because they mix their lines up so much so if your looking for correlation then you can look to Erik Karlsson or Dion Phaneuf on the points.
Nazem Kadri – TOR @ PHI – $6,000
Kadri has looked solid with five points in his last three games, and he is taking the reigns of the second line shutdown center. Both teams are on back to backs so I’m not extremely worried about fatigue. The Flyers have been bad on the defensive end for the past couple weeks, and although they did look decent last night, the Leafs pack a ton of offense and should give them all they can handle tonight. Steve Mason played yesterday and I would be extremely shocked if he played tonight, so that leaves Michael Neuvirth to man the crease for the Flyers. Neuvirth is a sub par goalie and he has a 3.00GAA so there should be goals in this one and I like Kadri’s chances to tally a point or two.
Logan Couture – SJ vs EDM – $6,100
Couture has put together a nice little four game point streak with a multi point effort in his last game. His shot volume has been there and he has been making the most of his opportunities. Couture has been logging great ice time for a second line center and tonight at hone he should get a couple chances against an Oilers team playing on the hind end of a back to back. Edmonton’s penalty kill has took a dip down in January as they have been a bottom ten with a 78.1% kill rate. This game is a late game and with the Oilers traveling and the break coming up, I can see Edmonton kind of mailing this one in. Couture is playing good hockey and he is where I would look unless you need value then you can check out the next player in the write up.
Ryan Carpenter – SJ vs EDM – $3,200
Carpenter is nothing more than a dart tonight on a huge slate where we need some value. He has been called up and has played four games, in those four games he has three points. Im not counting on points as he doesn’t see a ton of ice time, and no power play time. The thing that looks promising is his shot volume, he has eight shots on net in his last three games, and at his price that’s plenty. If he can squeeze a little more ice time, he could make for a solid value dart in gpps only.
Patrick Kane – CHI vs WPG – $7,400
Despite one point in his last four games, Kaner still has 11 point sin his last ten games. He is an elite sniper that has multi point upside any time he steps on the ice. Winnipeg has been generous with goals in the last month as they are giving up more than three per game. The Jets also love taking penalties as they are the second most penalized team in the league, and they also have a hard time killing them. The Jets have the fourth worst penalty kill in the league with a 76.8% kill rate. Kane can kill you on the power play if they can control the puck and find ways to get entry.
Tyler Seguin – DAL vs BUF – $7,000
Seguin may not be the point monster he has been in the previous years, but he is still sixth in the league with 3.57 shots on goal per game. He is a fast shifty skater and has a wicked shot. He has elite talent and tonight against Buffalo he should have plenty of opportunities. I like this game stack with both power plays, as both teams are horrible at killing penalties. look for a big total in this game.
Jason Pominville – MIN vs STL – $4,100
Pominville has caught a groove on the third line for the Wild with a four game point streak, and has been firing the puck early and often. I like Pominville a lot because he gets all the depth matchups and he plays on the second power play unit. The third line for the wild has plenty of offense with Zach Parise and Eric Haula. They should line up against the third line for the Blues with David Perron – Jori Lehtera – Nail Yakupov, and they are an extreme plus matchup for the Pominville line. St. Louis played solid hockey in their last game against the Penguins and proved all of us wrong, but I’m not buying it. The Blues have been horrible on the road and they make a ton of mistakes and turnovers, not to mention they have the 24th ranked penalty kill in January with a 76.2% kill rate. I like the Wild tonight and I think they could go under owned, especially the third line.
Zach Smith – OTT vs CGY – $4,100
Smith saves you some salary tonight, and has a pretty solid matchup. He plays on a strong offensive second line and he has been in the right place at the right time lately with nine points in his last ten. Smith also gets you top power play minutes. If I had to choose from Pominville and smith I would go with Pominville tonight, but Smith is still a great play tonight against the Flames who are on a losing streak.
Andre Burakovsky – WSH @ NJ – $4,000
Burakovsky has a point in every game except one in his last seven games. He gets the nice depth matchups and he has been making the most of them. The Devils have played better recently but they are inconsistent and make mistakes. Burakovsky also plays the wing on the power play, which has been successful recently and the Caps have a lot of offense to bring to the table tonight. Burakovsky saves you some much needed salary tonight.
Christian Fischer – ARI vs VAN – 2,600
Fischer has played two games for the Coyotes and he has a goal in each game. Granted he has the same amount of shots as goals, he still makes for a semi decent punt. Fischer is a great shooter, in the AHL he had 32 points in 31 games. He won’t score on every shot, that’s a pipe dream, but if he can get some decent ice time his shot volume should go up.
Nikita Zaitsev – OTT vs CGY – $4,300
Zaitsev makes for a good correlation play with Nazem Kadri as they play together on the second power play unit. Zaitsev has three points in his last couple games and he has been logging good minutes. Zaitsev also blocks shots and the Flyers have enough offense to make that relevant tonight.
Duncan Keith – CHI vs WPG – $5,300
Keith has stepped his offensive game up recently and has been shooting the puck a ton compared to his averages. He logs huge ice time for the Hawks and has a solid matchup tonight against the Jets. As I mentioned before the Jets like taking penalties and they have a tough time killing them. Keith loves to fake a shot with a pass and tonight he has a great chance at a point.
David Schlemko – SJ vs EDM – $3,300
Schlemko save you a ton of salary tonight playing the point for the Sharks. He doesn’t see a ton of ice time but he does get looks on the second power play unit. He is averaging a hair over two shots per game in his last five and he makes for a solid punt tonight against the Oilers.
Jacob Trouba – WPG @ CHI – $4,600
Trouba has had some steady production with four points in his last four games. He has also contributed with shots on net and a ton of blocks. He plays on the second power play unit and he has been logging over 25minutes of ice time per game. The Blackhawks give up a lot of scoring chances and their penalty kill is the third worst in the league with a 75.8% kill rate.
Scott Darling – CHI vs WPG – $8,100
Darling makes for a solid start against the Jets tonight at home. Darling has been solid as the backup to Crawford with a 1.98 GAA and a .938 save %. Darling should face enough shots tonight to produce a big number with the win, as the Hawks offense should produce enough goals to carry him to victory.
Devin Dubnyk – MIN vs STL – $7,900
Dubnyk has been one of the best goalies in the league this year with a 1.95GAA and a .925 save %. He has won eight of his last ten starts and makes for a solid GPP play tonight. The Blues can provide a lot of shots on net, but the Wilds offense has been great. Also the Blues haven’t fared well on the road as they have been giving up a ton of goals, and their penalty kill has suffered. I like Dubbers chance to get the victory tonight.
