NHL Power Plays 11/17/16

Tonight we have a ten game slate with a lot of even matchups and some great ones too, ownership percentages will be interesting also.  Let’s see if we can find some plays to get you to the top of the leaderboard tonight. Good luck!

Tyler Seguin – DAL vs COL – $7,700

Seguin was held off the scoresheet last game for the first time in six games.  He has multi point upside any time he steps onto the ice, and tonight is no different.  Colorado is giving up north of 30 shots per game and ranks tenth in goals against per game at 2.8.   As Dallas gets healthier, I expect their stars to continue to produce, but Lindy Ruff doesn’t make it easy on us DFS’ers, as he has been constantly making line changes and such but there has been one pretty constant guy that has clicked with Seguin, and that’s Patrick Eaves – W $5,200  Seguin makes a great play tonight and you could stack him up with Patrick Eaves.

Mark Scheifele – WPG vs PHI – $7,300

Scheifele leads the league in goals alongside Nikita Kucherov at ten, and also has 21 points on the year.  Tonight’s a great spot for Winnipeg as they get to take on the Flyers who are giving up 3.5 goals per game.  That equates to worst in the league.  A game stack could pay off handsomely tonight, as the goaltending should be less than stellar.

Ryan Kesler – ANH vs NJ – $5,700

Kesler has looked great recently, and has meshed well with his linemates on the second line.  He has three goals in his last three games, and he plays a great two way game.  He’s also not afraid to use his body to block shots.  The Devils are going to miss their best offensive player Taylor Hall, as he is out for four to six weeks with a knee injury. The Ducks have a fast paced style of hockey, and I think that should suit them well tonight, and I like the chances of Kesler tallying one up.

Tyler Johsnon – TB vs BUF – $5,000

Since the lightining lost their star player Steven Stamkos, they will need a new top line Center.  If Tyler Johnson is called on, I will be all over him with Nikita Kucherov – W – $7,200. Johnson tallied a point last game and they take on the Sabres tonight who, are also dealing with massive injuries to their star players.  buffalo is a middle of the pack type of team with nothing they do that stands out.  I think the lightning come into Buffalo and try to put a bunch on the Sabres tonight.

Nikita Kucherov – TB vs BUF – $7,200

Kucherov continues his enfuego season having multi point games in his last two.  With Stamkos going down with an injury, Kucherov will be the one to shoulder the load.  Kucherov is the hottest player in hockey right now and I’m riding him tonight.  He has 21 points in 16 games and four multi point games.

Jakub Voracek – PHI vs WPG – $6,500

The Flyers are fourth in the league in goals per game this year so far at 3.5 goals per game, also their power play has been super effective and deadly.  Winnipeg takes the fifth most penalties per game and tonight could be a great spot for the top power play unit of the Flyers.  I could actually see a game stack being really good tonight.  Voracek is averaging a point per game this year and always has the upside to have a multi point game, which he has four this year already.  You could also look to the top even strength line of the Flyers (Brayden Schenn – Claude Giroux – Wayne Simmons) but they will be higher owned.

Patrick Laine – WPG vs PHI – $7,100

Laine is averaging almost a point per game in his young career so far, and I don’t think he slows down any time soon.  The top line of the Jets has massive fire power with Schiefele centering it.  Philly is giving the most goals up per game in the league, averaging 3.5 against.  I see this game going high scoring and the top line of Winnipeg will have something to do with it.

Patrick Eaves – DAL vs COL – $5,200

Eaves has clicked nicely with his line mate Tyler Seguin, and that magic should continue tonight against the Aves.  Colorado is in the bottom ten in giving up goals per game at just shy of three.  It has been pretty predictable where the points have been coming from on this Dallas team and this is the line.

Mitchell Marner – TOR vs FLA – $5,900

Toronto’s second line has had a lot of production lately, and a lot of has to do with Marner.  He opens space up and draws attention for his line mates, not to mention he also has been averaging almost four shots per game.  He’s fast, shifty and has a ton of Talent. Florida will try to limit shots, but Toronto plays a fast game and takes a ton of shots, and I’m not worried about Toronto’s second line tonight.

Mark Streit – PHI vs WPG – $4,200

Saving salary is a key in NHL dfs, and it’s even nicer when a player is in a great spot.  Streit is going to take over for Shane Gostisbehere tonight and will play on the lethal top power play for the Flyers.  He averages a blocked shot per game and has ten points so far this year.  Philly involves the defenseman on their powerplay and it shouldn’t take much for Streit to pay off tonight.

Erik Johnson – COL vs DAL – $5,300

The Stars penalty kill has been pretty bad this year with their injuries and such, they are the fifth worst penalty kill team with just a 77% kill rate.  With the Aves stacking their top line withh all their fire power, there should be plenty of opportunities for Johnson tonight.  He’s also no afaraid to get dirty and block shots, which helps us with extra points.

Keith Yandle – FLA vs TOR – $4,800

Toronto has a ton of fire power but they also play a fast game and give up the most shots in the league per game giving up 33.  Yandle runs the point on the top power play line and I think they will be successful tonight against the young Leafs team.

Ben Bishop – TB vs BUF – $8,300

Bishop has been decent in the road this year with a 2.86 GAA and .911 SV% in six games.  He should be in line to steal one from Buffalo tonight, as long as the  Lightning  can contain the one good line on Buffalo.

John Gibson – ANH vs NJ – $7,800

Gibson is a pretty big home favorite tonight and should get the W against a Taylor Hall less team.  He has a 2.5ga and a .909 save % this year, and his offense should be able to help him out tonight. On a night with no stand out goalies, you have to take a chance, and Gibson is where I’m going.

Scheifele – Laine – Ehlers

Scheifele- Laine –  Byfuglien

Namestnakov – Kucherov – PalatPalat

Schenn – Simmons -Streit

Voracek – Couturier – Konecny

Johansen – Neal – Josi

Matthews- Nylander – Gardiner
