NHL Power Plays 11/15/16

Today, we get a MASSIVE 13 game slate after having a night of NHL dfs off.  It looks like it’s going to be a high scoring night with a lot of teams in great matchups.  Only one team is on a back to back, and that is the Tampa Bay Lightning.  Make sure to check your line assignments also, a couple teams have blown up their lines.  Now here is the GPP plays for tonight!

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask me on Twitter @Votts_DFS

Steven Stamkos – TBL vs DET – $8,100

The lightning maybe be on a back to back but this is too good of a matchup for Stamkos.  He has 19 points in 16 games, and is averaging 3.5 shots per game.  That’s just on average, now take into account that the Detroit Red wings sit dead last in the league with corsi % at just 45.4%.  Detroit is also giving up a ton of chances and a ton of shots on net, about 33 per game.  This could be one of those Stamkos multi point nights.

Ryan Johansen – NSH vs TOR – $5,100

The Maple leafs on the season have been giving up the worst amount of shots per game at 34.5.. Not only that but just in the Month of November they have now been giving up a staggering 40.5 shots on net per game!  Johansen has been in somewhat of a slump, but he finally broke that slump last game against the Ducks. Maybe he can get on a roll against the Maple Leafs tonight as he is playing on the top power play line also, and I would stack him up with James Neal – W -$5,900 and Roman Josi – D -$6,200

Eric Staal – MIN vs CGY – 5,600

Staal and Charley Coyle – W -$5,000 have gelled together very nicely and they get a great matchup tonight against the Flames, who are giving up the most amount of goals per game in the league at 3.63.  Staal should benefit with matchups as his old line mate Zach Parise – W – $6,660 should be back tonight.  Staal is averaging a point per game and has a three game point streak, with one of the games tallying three points.  I will have a pretty good amount of exposure to the Wild tonight, who should go somewhat underowned.

Travis Zajac – NJ vs DAL -$4,600

Zajac has five points in his last six games, and has been an essential part of the Devils top Power play unit.  Dallas is the sixth most penalized team in the league this year giving up 3.75 penalties per game. Also they are the fourth worst penalty kill team at just 76.7%.  You could save yourself some salary tonight and roll with Zajac in a great spot.

Zach Parise – MIN vs CGY – $6,660

Parise should be coming back tonight according to the beat writers I follow on twitter, but double check.  It also doesn’t hurt that Draftkings has him still showing as OUT, which should keep his ownership to a minimum.  He comes back just in time to take on the weak Flames, who are giving goals up at will almost.

Nikita Kucherov – TBL vs DET – $7,000

Kucherov and Stamkos are one of the most dangerous pairing when they are together.  Tonight they take on a poor puck possession team that gives up a ton of chances and shots in the Red Wings.  I love the spot for this top line tonight. Kucherov is coming off of a multi-point game and could definitely have another one tonight.

Charley Coyle – MIN vs CGY – $5,000

Coyle has been my secret weapon this year, he goes low owned a lot, and tonight it could pay off nicely.  The Flames penalty kill is putrid at just 73% that’s second worst in the league.  The Wild might go unnoticed tonight, get some exposure to the top line or Parise.

Brayden Schenn – PHI vs OTT- $5,000

Schenn is now playing on the top line for the Flyers, and looks great.  He has ten points in his 13 games this year, and also mans the top power play.  The Flyers are leading the league in shots on net with almost 34 per game.  Their power-play is also lethal with a 30% conversion rate.

Marko Dano – WPG vs CHI – $3,000

Dano got moved to the top line where he should see a huge increase in opportunities next to Laine and Scheifele. Winnipeg gets last change tonight and they will try to keep their top line away from the toews line, but even still, there will be opportunities.  The Hawks are still ranked last in the league in penalty kills and you also get some exposure to the man advantage with Dano on the second power-play unit. For $3,000 he makes a good value play

Ryan Suter – MIN vs CGY – $5,700

Suter is almost averaging a point per game this year and logs huge minutes.  He’s in a great spot against the Flames tonight, and Suter is also the QB of the top power play unit, and Calgary ranks second to last in kills.

Brent Burns – SJS vs CAR – $8,200

Burns is averaging almost five shot per game and two blocks per game.  That’s crazy, especially for a defenseman.  When he is on the ice he is pretty much a forward.  Carolina has been giving goals up recently and the sharks have enough fire power to tally a bunch tonight.

Roman Jodi – NSH vs TOR – $

Damon Severson – NJ vs DAL – $4,600

Severson has 11 points on the year so far and I don’t think anyone thought he would almost be averaging a point per game. He has a good matchup tonight against Dallas, who gives up a lot of penalties and in the month of November they have been giving up the third worst in the league 3.63 goals per game.

Devin Dubnyk – MIN vs CGY – $7,500

Dubnyk has been great despite his record.  He has a 1.65 goals against and a .947 save %. He shouldn’t have a problem getting the W at home tonight either.  Play him in cash and GPPs.

Carey Price – MTL vs FLA – $8,300

Price at home has been GOD like.  He has a 1.34 Goals against average and a .960 save %.  He should face plenty of rubber at home tonight to pad his point totals and should I’ll be able to take the W at home.

Staal – Coyle – Suter

Namestnikov – Stamkos – Kucherov

Stamkos – Kucherov – Hedman

Matthews – Nylander – Gardiner

Van Riemsdyk – Bozak – Marner

Johansen – Neal – Josi
