NHL Power Plays 11/10/16

Tonight we have a night looking 10 game slate. Make sure you double check lines and goalies, as there have been some call ups lately.  There are a couple teams worth noting for rest reasons, three teams are on back to back games and there are four teams playing their fourth game in six nights.  Here are your GPP plays for tonight.

As always, if you have any questions, please contact me on Twitter @Votts_DFS.

St. Louis Blues – Anaheim Ducks – Columbus Blue Jackets

Vancouver Canucks – Carolina Hurricanes – Dallas Stars – St. Louis Blues

Mark Scheifele – WPG vs ARI – $7,200

Scheifele has been a complete MONSTER in the past three game, accounting for NINE points in his last three games.  Tonight he gets another prime matchup agains the Coyotes, who are still the worst team in the NHL giving up 3.87 goals per game.  I love this complete game stack tonight.

Sean Monahan– CGY vs DAL – $5,400

Monahan and the top line for the Flames stated the year off slower than anyone has expected, but he is coming off a game with a point and has a good matchup tonight against the Stars.  They have been riddled with injury and its killing their depth.  The stars are sitting fifth worst in the league giving up just over 3.5 goals per game.  Monahan should be able to tally another point tonight.

Henrik Zetterberg – DET vs VAN – $5,200

Zetterbergs line has been the top producing line now that Thomas Vanek has been injured.  The Canucks have a stagnant offense and they will also be playing their fourth game in six nights.  Vancouver is also in the bottom 10 at goals allowed per game at 2.86.  Zetterberg makes for a good stack with Tomas Tatar – W – $5,100.

Sidney Crosby – PIT vs MIN – $8,100

Crosby is one of the best in the league and tonight has the highest implied total against the Wild.  Crosby has been on a terror since coming back from his concussion, he has nine points in his last six games.  He should be able to find the scoresheet tonight against the wild, who give up 30 shots a game.

Christian Dvorak – ARI vs WPG – $2,800

Dvorak has three points in his last two games, and could save you some much needed salary for your high salary stacks.  He also plays on the second power play unit alongside Max Domi – W – $4,500. I think this could make for a sneaky stack or even a great game stack tonight as the Jets are giving just over three goals up a game also.  DOUBLE CHECK THE LINES TO MAKE SURE HE PLAYS ON THE POWER-PLAY.  If its Jordan Martinook – C – $3,400 instead, he is also a fine play.

Patrice Bergeron – BOS vs CBJ – $6,700

Bergeron has been snake bitten with points this year and positive regression is sure to come.  He is averaging four shots on goal and doesn’t have less than five shots in his last four games.  The Bruins should be slinging a ton of rubber tonight at net with their 52.5% corsi rating against Columbus’s 46.5%.  Columbus is only giving up 2.09 goals against per game, but that has no choice but to come up in my opinion.  Their goaltending has been saving them, as they allow the fourth worst shots on net per game at 33.2.  Columbus is also on a back to back, which could lead to sloppy play and penalties.

Patrick Laine – WPG vs ARI – $6,800

Laine, just like Wheeler, has been marking the scoresheet like crazy lately, he now leads the league in goals at 11.  Laine has seven points in his last three games.  I expect the Jets to keep pouring it on against the Coyotes tonight, and the top line of the Jets is where I’m mostly looking.

Nikolaj Ehlers – WPG vs ARI – $4,700

Since Ehlers has moved to the top line for the Jets, is has paid off handsomely.  His price is still to cheap and hasn’t caught up yet either, take advantage while you can.  Ehlers has lightning speed and great offensive awareness. Playing on the top line with great players also helps too.  Do yourself a favor and save some salary and roster Ehlers.

Tomas Tatar – DET vs VAN – $5,100

Tatar has four points in his last five games and is playing on the most productive line.  He is also logging good power play minutes at 3:15. The Redwings have the second highest implied total of the night, and its somewhat predictable of where the points will come from tonight in my opinion.  You can use Tatar as a one off or stack him with Henrik Zetterberg – $5,200 as they play together on even strength and on the power play.

Johhny Gaudreau – CGY vs DAL – $6,200

Gaudreau’s home road splits are a real thing.  That said, he is at home tonight against the hobbled Stars who are having trouble playing any kind of defense, giving up 3.5 goals against per game. Dallas has also been just as bad as Calgary short handed with a 75% kill.  That’s 4th worst. Tonight could be a night that Gaudreau throws up a multi point game.

David Paternak – BOS vs MIN – $6,500

Pasternak is having a great year, starting off with 13 points in 11 games.  He is playing alongside Bergeon and Marchand which opens up a lot of ice and space for Pasternak.  He has also notched a point in every game this year except two. He doesn’t play on the power-play with Bergeron but that’s ok.  Look for Pasternak to keep his point streak alive tonight to make it six games straight.

Max Domi – ARI vs WPG – $4,500

Domi is coming off of a monster game with three points.  He now has ten points in 12 games.  Like I said earlier, this game tonight could be a massive shootout and I will have exposure to both teams, and a game stack makes great sense.

Mark Giordano – CGY vs DAL – $5,900

Giordano is a staple on the blue line for the flames, on even strength and the power play.  He doesn’t have to score to find you points either as he is averaging almost four blocks a game. He should be matched up against the Seguin and Benn line tonight and they will be shooting a ton, I expect a lot of blocks tonight.  If he can get a helper or even a goal tonight, he should pay off handsomely.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson – ARI vs WPG – $5,800

OEL is logging huge minutes for the Yotes and spending almost all the power play time on the ice.  Winnipeg is the eighth most penalized team, and that could feed right into OEL.  He is a great play tonight and I see him with a point at least.

Torey Krug – BOS vs CBJ – $4,800

Krug has had a disappointing opening to the year so far with only a couple points.  He is still averaging 3.5 shots per game, so I think the goals will be coming, just not sure when.  He is in a good spot tonight against a Columbus team that played last night.  I expect the Bruins to pepper the net tonight and control the pace of the game, which is great for Krug.

Victor Hedman – TB vs NYI – $5,500

Hedman has five points in his last four games and two of them were multi point games.  He takes on the Islanders tonight who are dead last in Corsi %.  Tampa should be able to control the flow of the game and they are in a great spot for high dangerous shots.  The Islanders don’t take a ton of penalties but when they do, they are pretty bad on the kill, sixth worst at 77%. Hedman makes for a good play tonight.

Anthony Deangelo – ARI vs WPG – $2,500

If you need to save salary from OEL you can punt with DeAngelo.  He made his debut last game and played 20 minutes, and had a goal and a helper. He is also getting a little bit of time on the second power play unit.  With Winnipeg giving up just over three goals a game he makes for a great punt in a GPP.

Tukka Rask – BOS vs CBJ – $7,00

Rask gives you a little bit of savings tonight, and he is a good sized favorite.  He is fifth in save % at .941 and has a 1.74 GAA.  I’ll have a ton of exposure to him tonight, especially since Columbus is on a b2b, and the Bruins should get the W.

Jimmy Howard – DET vs VAN – $7,900

Howard owns a .958 Save % and 1.26 Goals allowed per game this year in his six starts.  Vancouver still hasn’t figured out how to score goals as they average only 1.8 per game. The shutout is definitely possible tonight.

Ehlers – Scheifele – Laine

Hagelin – Crosby – Hornqvist

Kessel – Malkin – Letang

Monahan – Gaudreau – Giordano

Marchand – Bergeron – Pasternak

Backed – Spooner – Krug

Tatar – Zetterberg – Green

Domi  – Dvorak – Deangelo

Stamkos – Kucherov – Herman
