NHL GPP Plays 10/27/16

Hey Vicers welcome back to NHL GPP plays, which maybe we should now call: “Who can we pick on the Phoenix Coyotes with?”  We have a nice, even 9 game slate today with a couple teams sticking out that are in good spots. Now, let’s get to the NHL GPP plays!

If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @Votts_DFS.

Centers:

Tyler Seguin – DAL vs WPG – $8,000

Seguin has scored 6 points through 6 games thus far, but still does not have it together completely. He could Explode against a Winnipeg team that is the 4th worst team in Goals allowed per contest, as they are giving up 3.7 goal per game. Winnipeg likes to take their share of penalties and this matchup looks like a good spot for Seguin.

Austin Matthews – TOR vs FLA – $7,000

Matthews has 10 points in 6 games and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon;  he has 3 multi point games out of 6 and has only 1 game where he didn’t record a point.  Now, we know regression will come at some time but this kid is the real deal and is definitely one to watch. The Panthers aren’t the best matchup, but with Tor speed they should be able to get through to the twine tonight.

Claude Giroux – PHI vs ARI – $6,700

Giroux has a 6 game point streak, and there’s no reason to believe that will stop tonight.  Arizona is an absolute mess on Defense, and you will be noticing that I’ll have a bunch of Flyers in today’s write up.

Jeff Carter – LOS vs NSH – $5,800

Carter has 4 points in 6 games, and he is skating on the top power play which has been producing quite well.  Nashville was just embarrassed last night against the Ducks, and I am expecting lines to be shaken up.  You can pair Carter up with Tanner Pearson – W – $5,000 and get exposure to both power play lines.

Mark Scheifele – WPG vs DAL – $7,300

Winnipeg’s offense runs through Scheifele and it shows by him averaging almost twenty two minutes of ice time per game.  He has 7 points in 6 games and with Dallas being beat up with injuries, they split Benn and Seguin.  Dallas can also give goals up in a hurry, and Scheifele should have something to do with that if they do.

Sean Couturier – PHI vs ARI – $4,500

Couturier has been averaging about 20 minutes of ice time per game and If you are looking for savings to pay up for big stars then you can look to couturier and his line mate Matt Read – $4,200 as they both play on the 2nd power play and will be less owned than the top line.

WINGERS

Jakub Voracek – PHI vs ARI – $6,300

Voracek has 8 points in 7 games and has been re-introduced with his running mate Claude Giroux.  He is averaging 18.5 minutes of ice time per game and tonight could be a beautiful spot for him.  Arizona is a dumpster fire on defense and they give up almost 4.5 goals a game! If you can’t afford Voracek, you can look to his new line mate Travis Konecny – W – $4,200 or you can look to the 2nd powerplay with Matt Read – W – $4,200.

Jonathan Marchessault – FLA vs TOR – $5,100

Marcheesy has made almost all of my write ups this year, and for great reason.  Since being called up to the top line to take over for Jonathan Huberdreau, he has excelled and shows no sign of slowing down.  He has 8 points in 6 games and his price is still too cheap.  Toronto has no issues giving goals up, and Marchessault is in a good spot.

Patrick Laine – WPG vs DAL – $6,200 *** FD- $5,000

Laine has been averaging almost 20 minutes of ice time per contest and plays on the top power play line. On Fanduel he is WAY too cheap.  The top line of Laine – Mark Scheifele ($7,300) – Blake Wheeler ($7,200) has combined for a total of 18 points in 6 games. They show great chemistry and Laine is in a good spot tonight against a beat up Dallas.

Joe Pavelski – SJS vs CBJ – $7,400

Pavelski has 9 points in 7 games and is averaging 4 shots on a goal per game.  Columbus is giving up 34 shots on goal a game and that bodes well for Pavelski, given the sharks have a fast and physical pace of play. A sharks stack looks like a good stack tonight.

Charley Coyle – MIN vs BUF – $4,900

Coyle has been quietly putting together a nice season so far with 5 points in 7 games.  He makes a great pairing with Eric Staal C – $5,100 as I think the Buffalo top line will be paired against the Parise line. Buffalo is averaging 3 goals against per contest and 30 shots per game.

Patric Hornqvist – PIT vs NYI – $5,600

Hornqvist has 5 points in 7 games this year and now he gets to play with Sidney Crosby – C – $7,900 on an even strength line after coming back with injury. Hornqvist also plays on the 2nd power play unit and makes for a great play tonight.

Alexander Radulov – MON vs TBL – $5,200

Radulov has been proving himself all season, and Michel Therrien has responded by playing him on the 2nd line and the top power play line. Radulov has 5 points in 7 games and could make for a good 1 off play.

DEFENSEMAN

Brent Burns – SJS vs CLS – $8,200

Burns is a focal point on the Sharks and it shows- he has 35 shots on goal in their 7 games to go along with 9 total points.  Burns logs massive minutes and is a staple on the power play. Look for him to have a multi-point day.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson – ARI vs PHI – $6,100

OEL had 4 points in 6 games and is a staple on the power play. Philadelphia takes a bunch of penalties and they are giving up the 3rd worst power play goals in the league at 7.  Look for OEL to get on the score sheet tonight.

Ryan Suter – MIN vs BUF – $5,400

Suter is such a solid defenseman and logs big minutes, and has a great floor and a high ceiling.  Suter has 7 points in 7 games and his matchup with buffalo is a plus matchup. Buffalo is also allowing 30 shots per game.

Shayne Gostisbehere – PHI vs ARI – $6,200

Gost is in a prime matchup against the Coyotes where they allow 34.5 shots per game and with that come the goals. Arizona is giving up 4.5 goals per game and Gost should be all over the score sheet tonight.  He also plays on the top power play line and logs about 22 minutes per game.

Aaron Ekblad – FLA vs TOR – $4,400

Ekblad only has 1 point this season, but that will change soon. He blocks a ton of shots, and Toronto is leading the league in shots per game at thirtyfive per game.  He logs almost 24 minutes per game and plays on the top power play for the Predators.  If you have a little more salary, you could also look to Keith Yandle – D -$4,500.

Mark Streit – PHI vs ARI – $4,100

If you need to save salary, Streit is a great way to go tonight against the poor Defensive Arizona team.  Streit has 5 points in 7 games and mans the 2nd power play for the Flyers.

GOALIES

Steve Mason – PHI vs ARIZ – $7,800

Mason has a .901 save % and a 2.77 goals against, but that should fair well against an Arizona team giving up 4.5 goals a game. He should be in line for the W.

Martin Jones – SJ vs CLS – $7.900

Jones is a heavy favorite and should get the W tonight against the Blue Jackets.  He might not face a ton of shots but a SO is definitely possible.

Marc Andre Fluery – PIT vs NYI -$7,600

Fleury is an impressive 4-0-1 with a 2.36 GAA and .927 SV% on home ice this year and in GPPS you need to take some risk. He could face enough shots to get a nice score with a W.
