NBA Thoughts – 3/07/17

This three-game slate isn’t stopping the sites from running huge tournaments. Most of these small slates have me taking risks on players who I normally wouldn’t roster. Having that low-owned cheapie that goes for 25+ can make a huge difference on a small slate. I’ll review what lineup took down the big $4 tournament last time, and how we can replicate the same lineup building process tonight. Let’s get to it!

Lineup Construction

I mentioned having that one cheapie who goes off is crucial on small slates. Often it will require going off the board to guys you barely roster. The last three-game slate on the 2nd of March, feature a winner who used the same lineup construction I’m speaking about. Let’s look at the winning lineup.

Patrick McCaw? With Kevin Durant out, it made sense to take a chance on one of the other Warriors. McCaw ended up being the $3k punt that made sense and ended up winning “Badabing71” a smooth $25,000. Every other play was standard as he had heavily owned plays like Westbrook, Walker, Nurkic, and Warren. I’ll list my favorite plays below, but make sure to put the extra effort to find that low owned McCaw.

Guys that make it happen

The core I’ll be rolling out tonight will consist of these guys below. All seem to be in great spots and offer the best point per dollar on the slate.

Alan WilliamsAlan Williams
Wesley MatthewsHarrison Barnes
CJ McCollumJohn Wall
Harrison BarnesRussell Westbrook

These guys provide you the floor while offering the best point-per-dollar options on the slate. Mix these guys with the low-owned risky plays on the slate and you could be looking at a huge night.

As always, feel free to message me on Twitter (@MLora) with any questions. I’ll also be in the premium slack chat leading up to lock. I wish everyone a happy Tuesday. Till next time, party animals!
