NBA Thoughts – 3/2/17

Tonight we have a short three-game slate with some pretty fast paced teams taking the court tonight. Most of these teams are in contention for a playoff spot so we have a pretty clear understanding of their rotation and who should get minutes. When it comes to Phoenix, I’ll do my best to break down their young guys and see who can provide value on tonight’s slate. Let’s get to it.

Lineup Construction

On three game slates, I make it a priority to build a core that provides a solid floor and fill in riskier plays around them. Because of the nature of the slate, these riskier plays are the ones that will provide the edge on tonight’s slate. I’ll highlight some of these boom or bust plays below, but these are the ones I will sprinkle across my lineups tonight.

Risky Plays
Alan Williams
Allen Crabbe
Marquese Chriss
Taj Gibson

Core Plays

The players above are the ones I’m willing to take shots on, but there are core plays that I want in most of my lineups. On three game slates it’s tough to get differentiation so building lineups with a solid foundation is key. Here are the guys I’ll have in most of my lineups.

Jusuf NurkicCJ McCollum
Steph CurryJusuf Nurkic

I feel pretty confident when most of my lineups have these players. Again, I’m aiming to build a floor on a three game slate and that could go a long way.
