NBA Bargains – 4/12/17
Happy Wednesday and welcome weary NBA DFS travelers. We have nearly reached the end of the regular season. Let us look at the games from the epically epic 14-game slate and find the bargain plays that make our lineups hit the top of the standings. I am targeting at/below 10K on Fantasy Draft, 5.5K on FanDuel and 5K on DraftKings. LET’S DO THIS!
NOTE: Stay tuned to FanVice for updates and analysis of the breaking news in regards to the values that open throughout the evening leading up to lineup lock.
Bobby Brown – HOU vs. MIN – $3,800 (FD), $3,700 (DK), $7,300 (FDRAFT) – Fire up all the My Prerogative jokes for this one as Brown has played 24 and 32 minutes in the last two games, scoring 21.75 and 31.50 in those efforts. He should have plenty of runway in this final game of the season and the Rockets will continue to play D’Antoni’s style of play no matter who is in there.
Jamal Murray – DEN at OKC – $4,600 (FD), $5,500 (DK), $10,900 (FDRAFT) – Murray is a great value on FanDuel, who has left him right there in the mid 4K range despite Jameer Nelson out for the season and Emmanuel Mudiay not being able to play hurt. Murray should get 32-34 minutes of prime usage and exceed tourney value over there.
Rashad Vaughn – MIL at BOS – $3,500 (FD), $3,000 (DK), $6,000 (FDRAFT) – All kinds of minutes and sitting going on for the Bucks tonight, so fire up Vaughn, who is starting and should see 37-48 minutes tonight, as a value play here.
Justin Holiday – NYK vs. PHI – $3,700 (FD), $3,900 (DK), $7,700 (FDRAFT) – You can take a Holiday, oh year, oh year, take some time to celebrate….Holidaaaay! In line to receive 32-36 minutes tonight as the Knicks should see Carmelo, Kristaps and Lance Thomas out for this game. The last game Holiday played 40 minutes and score 28.75 DK points.
K.J. McDaniels – BKN at CHI – $3,500 (FD), $3,000 (DK), $6,000 (FDRAFT) – 24 minutes of KJMC is fun, as the entire Nets starting unit will sit for this game. So yes, Caris LeVert ($4,200) and Spencer Dinwiddie ($4,000) are fine plays as they should start, but KJMC will see less Jimmy Butler and is over a thousand dollar less with very similar upside as those two.
Michael Beasley – MIL at BOS – $4,500 (FD), $3,200 (DK – PF), $6,300 (FDRAFT) – Look, man, whenever you see the Beasmaster getting 25-30 minutes at near min salaries, you play the guy, that is what you do. Beasley is always in the high 20s in raw usage and will have no Giannis, Middleton, et al to take the ball from him. Shot coming!
Juancho Hernangomez – DEN at OKC – $3,500 (FD), $3,000 (DK), $6,000 (FDRAFT) – I may roll out a min priced only lineup tonight because all my favies are low priced and ready to rock and or roll. Juanchoooooo should see at least as many minutes as he got yesterday (26) against Dallas, any maybe more. He scored 25.50, which is tourney ready and there is upside today in a better matchup.
Cheick Diallo – NOP at LAL – $3,500 (FD), $3,600 (DK), $7,000 (FDRAFT) – Hopefully you played the Cheickster at min price across the industry last night – he was excellent, fantasy wise, in relief of Cousins/Davis, which he is in line to do again tonight. Cheick had 37.25 DK points in 26 minutes and the matchup against a resting Portland should provide more of the same.
Boban Marjanovic – DET at ORL – $4,200 (FD), $5,300 (DK), $10,500 (FDRAFT) – SVG has to give Boban more than 19 measly minutes tonight against Orlando and even though his price is up, he is a lot of fun to play and well worth it in a plus matchup such as this one.
Alexis Ajinca – NOP at POR – $3,700 (FD), $4,600 (DK), $9,100 (FDRAFT) – I did not list Ajinca yesterday because he never really delivers when you expect him to, and his 29 DK point, 24 minute effort was fine. There are a ton of center options below 4.5K across the industry but Ajinca against a resting Portland team is a safe place to go tonight, especially in Cousins/Davis sit again, as expected.
Good luck, players! – JW
I am a promoter at DraftKings and am also an avid fan and user (my username is jaywalker72) and may sometimes play on my personal account in the games that I offer advice on. Although I have expressed my personal view on the games and strategies above, they do not necessarily reflect the view(s) of DraftKings and I may also deploy different players and strategies than what I recommend above.
