NBA Bargains – 4/10/17
Happy Monday! Let us look at the games from the nine-game slate and find the bargain plays that make our lineups hit the top of the standings. I am targeting at/below 10K on Fantasy Draft, 5.5K on FanDuel and 5K on DraftKings. LET’S DO THIS!
NOTE: Stay tuned to FanVice for updates and analysis of the breaking news in regards to the values that open throughout the evening leading up to lineup lock.
Tyler Johnson – MIA vs. CLE – $5,500 (FD), $5,000 (DK), $9,800 – (FDRAFT) – The Miami Heat have to win, the Cleveland Cavaliers may only like to win to keep the top seed. Any which way, Tyler will be giving 30+ minutes tonight with Dion Waiters still questionable and the Cavaliers potentially overplaying Goran Dragic if they do intend to win. Johnson has the 32-35 DK point potential here to get the tourney value needed at home.
Spencer Dinwiddie – BKN at BOS – $4,300 (FD), $4,000 (DK -SF), $7,800 (FDRAFT) – Big Vegas total (223), and Dinwiddie actually cracked 20% raw usage last time out, scoring 31.60 FD points in 26 minutes in a game the Chicago Bulls really needed to win.
Jodie Meeks – ORL at CHI – $3,600 (FD), $3,700 (DK), $7,400 (FDRAFT) – Evan Fournier is questionable and there really is not any good reason to play him if he is even a little hurt. Meeks can fill in and take shots just as well, and will likely soak up 20-23% raw usage in Fournier’s place.
Ian Clark – GSW vs. UTA – $3,700 (FD), $3,500 (DK), $7,000 (FDRAFT) – Stephen Curry will be back in this game to play with Kevin Durant for a little pre-playoffs chemistry, but Klay Thompson is expected to rest, leaving Clark in the enviable role of playing both starter and cleanup minutes against a depleted Utah Jazz team that needs to lick its wounds before the playoffs start. C
Terrence Ross – ORL at CHI – $4,600 (FD), $5,000 (DK), $9,800 (FDRAFT) – Ross, like Meeks, will also benefit from Fournier’s absence, playing mid 30s minutes with a green light to shoot, like his 17 shot, 42 DK point performance in a playoff relevant game against the Packers over the weekend.
Joe Ingles – UTA at GSW – $4,100 (FD), $4,600 (DK), $9,100 (FDRAFT) – With all those Utah injuries, Ingles looks to have 30+ minutes curtained off for himself, and he has been a DK point per minute players against GSW in the past. Joe could pull 35-40 minutes in this loose game, making him a potential extreme tourney value.
Henry Ellenson – DET vs. WAS – $3,500 (FD), $4,100 (DK), $8,100 (FDRAFT) – Pistons are playing the kids on the way down the stretch and Ellenson got 27 minutes his last game and has 49 FD points in the last two games. This is a good matchup for Ellenson here and the 210 Vegas total means there will be fantasy goodness to harvest here.
Thaddeus Young – IND at PHI – $5,000 (FD), $5,700 (DK), $11,200 (FDRAFT) – Young will get 30+ minutes in a must win game here in Philly, so a bit of a revenge game narrative here as well. Young has steadied his scoring in the 21-31 FD point range , so maybe more safer, cashy type play, and only on FanDuel, where he is still reasonable at 5K.
Boban Marjanovic – DET vs. WAS – $3,600 (FD), $5,000 (DK), $9,900 (FDRAFT) – If you are playing NBA DFS in April and are not rostering Marjanovic, I am not sure you are fit to play this game. Boban is getting minutes (27 and 22 last two games) and opportunity (29 and 20.5% usage last two games) which is translating to good times (46.50 and 29.50 DK points last two games). He has a significantly better matchup in this game against a coasting Washington team than against the Grizzlies last time out, so just lock him in (less than 25% ownership on DK last slate) and have some fun.
Pau Gasol – SAS at POR – $5,700 (FD), $5,000 (DK), $9,900 (FDRAFT) – At the exact same price points on DK/FDRAFT as Boban is Pau, who still has it (1.13 DKPPM) and Pop is wanting to establish rhythm heading into the playoffs, feeling like the team has had enough rest and now has a more rest friendly days off schedule the rest of the season. A great tourney pivot of a more chalky Boban.
Good luck, players! – JW
