NBA Bargains 2/7/17

Happy Tuesday! Let us look at the games from this short/sweet three-game slate and find the bargain plays that make our lineups hit the top of the standings. Due to the slate size, I am loosening the boundaries of salaries I usually employ. Let’s go!

NOTE: Stay tuned to FanVice for updates and analysis of the breaking news in regards to the values that open up throughout the evening leading up to lineup lock.

Point Guards

Patrick Beverley – HOU vs. ORL – Bev is a discounted version of the more popular Yogi Ferrell, and a better play today, too, even if Deron Williams misses another game and Ferrell continues his mid 30 minute playing time run. Beverley has a 220 game total at his back, is $500-$800 less expensive and a great matchup against a struggling Magic squad.

Also consider: Spencer Dinwiddie – BKN at CHA

Shooting Guards

Sean Kilpatrick – BKN at CHA – Since Caris LeVert is out again, it seems reasonable that Kilpatrick, who has seen 26 and 31 minutes his last two times out, would be in play. Kilpatrick has measured 23.7 and 23.8% raw usage in those two games, scoring 30.25 and 26.25 DK points, making him a solid value at $4,300 on DK, $4,000 on FD and $8,400 on FantasyDraft.

Evan Fournier – ORL at HOU – Playing the Rockets from the shooting guard position is a great matchup, and Fournier has returned from injury to get 35 and 32 minutes his last two games, using nearly 25% of possessions. This high game total and pace will suit Fournier well, and he should get close to the 40 DK points he got against Toronto, which would make him solid tourney value at his $5,600 price tag on both FanDuel and DraftKings.

Also consider: Wesley Matthews – DAL vs. POR

Small Forwards

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist – CHA vs. BKN – You want frontcourt guys against the Nets and MKG put up 40 DK points the last time out against Brooklyn. The Nets are fourth worst in rebounding percentage and give up the second highest rebounding percentage to opponents. If it was not against the Nets, he would be overpriced at $5,200 on FanDuel, $5,100 on DraftKings and $10,100 on FantasyDraft, but it is a solid go here in this matchup.

Bojan Bogdanovic – BKN at CHA – He is always risky, because he derives to much fantasy value from making his shots, but at $4,200 on FanDuel/DraftKings and $8,400 on FantasyDraft, he is a solid tournament flyer due to his mid 20s minutes/usage.

Also consider: Aaron Gordon  – ORL at HOU

Power Forwards

Marvin Williams – CHA vs. BKN – See the write-up for Kidd-Gilchrist about the matchup, and with Cody Zeller likely to miss again tonight (he is questionable right now), Williams could see another 38 minutes like he played against Utah in this plus matchup.

Ryan Anderson – HOU vs. ORL – Anderson has the tourney upside here to hit 35 fantasy points, despite his field goal-less outing last time he played. It was the third game in four nights for Anderson, a jump shooter, so the fatigue impacts more there. Anderson has been on four days rest and gets a solid matchup against the Magic in a high pace, high score game.

Clint Capela – HOU vs. ORL – Well rested, solid matchup, great game total. Capela has posted over 30 minutes his last two games and scored 38.25 and 26.75 DK points in those games.

Dirk Nowitzki – DAL vs. POR – He struggled against Portland, in Portland, but he is at home and you have to like the 30 minutes he got there and his usual 25-27% raw usage rate for the $5,000 price tag on DK and sub 10K price tag on Fantasy Draft ($9,900).

Also consider: Frank Kaminsky – CHA vs. BKN (if Zeller is out)

Good luck, players! – JW

I am a promoter at DraftKings and am also an avid fan and user (my username is jaywalker72) and may sometimes play on my personal account in the games that I offer advice on. Although I have expressed my personal view on the games and strategies above, they do not necessarily reflect the view(s) of DraftKings and I may also deploy different players and strategies than what I recommend above.
