NBA Bargains –12/25/16
Merry Christmas! To celebrate, let us look at the five-game slate for today and find the bargain plays that make our lineups hit the top of the standings. I am going to keep these under the $5,000 line for DraftKings (DK). Let’s go!
Brandon Jennings – NYK vs. BOS – $3,700 – Jennings is coming off the bench, but with 18% raw usage and solid tourney upside due to his streak scoring and ability to create and move the ball to usage guys like Carmelo Anthony, Kyle O’Quinn and Kristaps Porzingis.
Tony Parker – SAS vs. CHI – $3,700 – Like the Tony Parker national TV game here. He is not playing many minutes, but hopefully Santa leaves a 30 minutes game for us under the tree and Parker goes for 30+ DK points against Rajon Rondo.
Jamal Crawford – LAC at LAL – $4,000 – If Chris Paul misses again, Crawford gets elevated a little more as he scored 35.75 in 30 minutes against the Mavericks Friday night. I expect CP3 to play, but Crawford still has the upside and the raw usage in his reserve role to be a nice tourney punt play.
Andre Roberson – OKC vs. MIN – $3,900 – If Oladipo is out again, lock in the 35+ minutes for Roberson, making him a nice cash game play against Minnesota with a solid game total of 204.
Andre Iguodala – GSW at CLE – $3,400 – I expect we will see plenty of Iguodala in his high-profile rematch with the Cavs and they will need Iggy for defensive purposes. If he has 30 minutes, he will score over 20 DK points, making him an interesting cash game punt.
Nikola Mirotic – CHI at SAS – $3,600 – Mirotic is the tourney play here, as he will score over a fantasy point per minute so if he can get high 20s minutes run to stretch the Spurs defense out, he has mid 30s fantasy points potential here.
Amir Johnson – BOS at NYK – $3,100 – Johnson has been getting more run lately, getting mid 20s minutes and scoring 11.75, 22 and 36.50 DK points. They will need some size against the Knicks, who have Noah, Porzingis, O’Quinn, Hernangomez, et al.
Enes Kanter – OKC vs. MIN – $4,300 – Kanter has been finally getting more burn (34 and 23 minutes last two games) with Oladipo out since the Thunder desperately need more offense than just Russell Westbrook. His raw usage is always high and is definitely more than a fantasy point per minute guy.
Robin Lopez – CHI at SAS – $4,500 – They will need Lopez to matchup with Pau Gasol here, meaning likely 30-32 minutes, which would let him beat value at his 4.5K.
Joakim Noah – NYK vs. BOS – $3,900 – Already a super strong fantasy point per minute player, he will be getting up for going against his old friend and college teammate Al Horford here. A 30 fantasy point game is definitely in range at his sub 4K price.
Good luck and Merry Christmas! – JW
I am a promoter at DraftKings and am also an avid fan and user (my username is jaywalker72) and may sometimes play on my personal account in the games that I offer advice on. Although I have expressed my personal view on the games and strategies above, they do not necessarily reflect the view(s) of DraftKings and I may also deploy different players and strategies than what I recommend above.
