NBA Bargains – 12/16/2016

There are ten games on the schedule tonight tipping off at 7:00pm ET with the larger sites also running express game sets at 7:30pm and 8:00pm.  This looks like another exciting night with plenty of fantasy goodness to go around.

As always, more information will be released by the teams closer to tip-off, but this should give us plenty of discounted options to work with in the meantime.

If you have any questions you can reach me on Twitter @EmacDFS or in the FanVice.com premium Slack channel.

Point Guards

Ramon Sessions – CHA at BOS – It looks like Kemba Walker will be out of this game attending to a personal matter.  That will likely elevate Ramon Sessions into a starting role and at his current price point he is a fine punt option across the industry and should be in the mix for 20-25 fantasy points.  He will be very popular, but there is no reason to shy away from him if you are looking for your discounted options at this position.

T.J. McConnell – PHI vs LAL – Though Jerryd Bayless had been out for the better part of the last month, he has officially been sidelined for the season with surgery on his wrist.  McConnell is an extreme punt option tonight, but he is also someone we will want to be cognizant of since the ‘Sixers are often tweaking their starting lineups.  Sergio Rodriguez is still the preferred option from this backcourt and he is a steady play with upside against the Lakers tonight.

Austin Rivers – LAC at MIA – Everyone’s Favorite Cameroonian (Luc Richard Mbah a Moute) is doubtful for tonight and we saw the Coach’s Son roll his way to 33.8 fantasy points after drawing the start in his place against the Magic.  While that is definitely nearing his upside, it would not be a surprise to see Rivers in the 20-25 fantasy point range if he is in the starting five tonight against the Heat.

Shooting Guard

Nick Young – LAL at PHI – Swaggy P is back in our lives d has played in the last three games after missing nearly two weeks.  He is fairly priced, but he does have tournament appeal since he can flirt with the thirty fantasy point plateau when things are going his way and this is the kind of freewheelin’ affair in which he thrives.

Louis Williams – LAL at PHI – Even though he is coming off the bench, Sweet Lou is the guy the Lakers count on in crunch time and he gets a ton of shots with the reserve unit as well.  He is only a play on FanDuel where we need two shooting guards and his $5,600 is reasonable.  He moves up the ranks in the event any of the now fully healthy Lakers are sitting.

Joe Harris – BKN at ORL – The former Lake Chelan high school star is in play as an extreme punt option on all the major sites and over the last three weeks he has been a steady producer seeing 25ish minutes per game and producing 20ish fantasy points during the same stretch.

Small Forward

Kelly Oubre – WAS vs DET – If Markieff Morris is out again with his toe injury, there is a good chance that Oubre cracks the starting lineup for the Wizards.  In three of his last four games he has tallied 21+ fantasy points and he is clearly part of the plans in Washington as he has seen 20+ minutes in five straight games including 40 against Charlotte in their last game when he started for Morris.

Marcus Morris – DET at WAS – The Wizards are continually bad against small forwards and shooting guards and that has not changed this year.  In fact on the whole they have been a bottom five team for overall defensive efficiency.

Robert Covington – PHI vs LAL – This is the Bobby C we have been waiting for!  He has finally broken out of his shooting slump and has produced 30+ fantasy points in three of his last five games including 71 in his last two combined.  This should be a game with a lot of fantasy goodness to go around with many reasonably priced options.

Power Forward

Taj Gibson – CHI vs MIL – While he is never exciting, flashy or seems to produce over 40 fantasy points, he is a steady option and it is always nice to have Gibson’s foundation when building rosters.  Last night in this same matchup he produced 27 fantasy points with 19 points, four rebounds, a block and an assist.  He should have a similar level of production tonight, likely with a couple less points but a few more boards.

Trevor Booker – BKN at ORL – While he is a little more expensive that the normal player recommended in this article series, we do have to take notice of his 30+ fantasy point performances in four of his last five games and in seven of his last ten.

Center

Jahlil Okafor – PHI vs LAL – If Joel Embiid does in fact get the night off tonight, Okafor is someone to give strong consideration since he should be a very strong point per dollar producer on all sites in this matchup against the less-than-formidable Lakers frontcourt.

Kosta Koufos – SAC at MEM – This is a decent matchup for Koufos who should see some run against Marc Gasol in the first return to Memphis for former head coach Dave Joerger who now heads up the Kings.

Cody Zeller – CHA at BOS – Though he has only topped 24 fantasy points twice in his last ten games, he does have a terrific matchup against the Boston Celtics who are far from the best rebounding team once again this season.
