NBA Bargains – 12/13/2016
There are a half dozen games on the schedule tonight tipping off at 7:00pm ET with the larger sites also running express game sets at 7:30pm, 8:00pm and 9:00pm. This looks like another exciting night with a 212 average projected point total for tonight’s games.
As always, more information will be released by the teams closer to tip-off, but this should give us plenty of discounted options to work with in the meantime.
If you have any questions you can reach me on Twitter @EmacDFS or in the FanVice.com premium Slack channel.
Tim Frazier – NOP vs GSW – Frazier was simply out of his mind on Sunday when he managed a triple double in Phoenix on Sunday. Now, we cannot expect that type of production since he managed to get 37 minutes off the bench (there was one overtime period), but he should have some usefulness going forward even with Tyreke Evans and E’Taun Moore healthy. At his current price is a solid part of a game-stack or as a discount option until Tyreke Evans returns.
D.J. Augustin – ORL at ATL – The strategy of having D.J. Augustin starting for Orlando and having Elfrid Payton work his magic on the second unit has been beneficial to everyone involved. At his current low price point, Augustin is one of the few extreme punt options on the board tonight. We also want to remember that targeting Atlanta with opposing point guards has been an effective strategy for most of the season.
Evan Fournier – ORL at ATL – Coming into Saturday’s game against the Denver Nuggets, Fournier had three sub-17 fantasy point performances in a four game stretch. Perhaps he was motivated going against his former team or perhaps it is because the Denver backcourt defenders are a mess. Either way, the Frenchmen was just shy of a forty burger in most scoring systems. Sacrebleu!
Devin Booker – PHO vs NYK – His sophomore campaign has been pretty rough and the 20 year-old has exceeded 28 fantasy points just once in his last nine games. This is a great matchup for him and with his price at a season low on FanDuel and FantasyDraft, we can give him a look tonight in all formats.
Tim Hardaway Jr – ATL vs ORL – If Junior gets another start, his is worthy of tournament consideration against the Orlando Magic.
Brandon Knight – PHO vs NYK – If Alex Len (hip) and T.J. Warren (head) are out, there is a good chance that the Suns will play more three-guard sets than normal and that will boost Knight’s minutes and productions well ahead of his currently suppressed price tag.
Andre Roberson – OKC at POR – Depending on your site of choice, Roberson may be found at the shooting guard or small forward position. He is a steady bargain option with his performances never really being enough to cause too much of a price increase. This is a good matchup tonight, particularly if Victor Oladipo (wrist) is out since it will open up more shooting opportunities for Roberson.
Thabo Sefolosha – ATL vs ORL – Since moving back into the starting lineup for his defensive abilities, Sefolosha has produced in the mid-20 fantasy points in each of his last three games and he should see a similar line in this matchup which is giving Atlanta an implied team point total of 103.5 tonight.
JaMychal Green – MEM at CLE – We already know that Marc Gasol will be sitting out tonight’s matchup in Cleveland, but he is slated to return to action tomorrow night in Memphis when these two teams square off again. Green sees pretty solid minutes, but with Gasol out he should have more rebounding opportunities and the shots from close range. Over his last five games he is averaging 10.1 points and 15.2 rebounds including a career high on Thursday against Portland.
Gorgui Dieng – MIN at CHI – While he has not flirted with the forty fantasy point plateau in seemingly forever, Dieng has topped 21 fantasy points in fourteen of his last fifteen outings and during that time he is averaging just shy of 26 fantasy points per game. He is a phenomenal “cash game” option and possess upside for tournaments at this nominal salary level.
Enes Kanter – OKC at POR – This has all the makings of a “Kanter” game. Portland is one of the worst rebounding teams in the league and this game should be played at a fast pace with lots of transition buckets. In three of his last five outings against the Trailblazers, Kanter has produced 36+ fantasy points including a 60 point whopper last April with 33 points and 20 rebounds. Now, while that is incredibly unlikely to occur again, at $5,100 on FanDuel, $8,800 on FantasyDraft and $4,400 on DraftKings I am willing to go heavy with him in tournaments. Depending on your preferred site, you may find Kanter at either the center or the power forward position.
Tyson Chandler – PHO vs NYK – If Alex Len is out tonight, then Chandler becomes a PHENOMENAL value play and if Len does play or remains iffy at contest lock, he is still a tremendous option. As the only real Phoenix option with any hope of defending Kristaps Porzingis, Chandler should see enough floor time and opportunity to be in the mix for a double double.
