NBA Bargains – 12/05/2016

There are eleven games on the docket tonight tipping off at 7:00pm ET with the larger sites also running express game sets at 7:30pm, 8:00pm and 10:30pm.  There are a ton of superstars in action so we are going to need to find several value plays in order to be competitive with our rosters.

As always, more information will be released by the teams closer to tip-off, but this should give us plenty of discounted options to work with in the meantime.

If you have any questions you can reach me on Twitter @EmacDFS or in the premium Slack channel.

Point Guards

Shelvin Mack – UTA vs LAL – George Hill has already been ruled out so that will keep Mack in the DFS crosshairs for another game as he and Dante Exum will split the minutes facilitating the offense, with assistance from Gordon Hayward.  This is an extreme punt play with Mack likely to top out at around 20 fantasy points.

Sergio Rodriguez – PHI vs DEN – Jerryd Bayless and Robert Covington have both been ruled out tonight so that means Rodriguez will again see 25-30 secure minutes at the point and he again has Joel Embiid on the court to receive his post passes.

Shooting Guard

Will Barton – DEN at PHI – This is a good spot for Will Barton in what should be a game with very little defense and lots of scoring with a 210 projected point total.  Since returning from injury, Barton has posted 18.5ppg, 6.0rpg, 4.5apg and 2.0 combined blocks/steals.  He should flirt with the thirty fantasy point plateau and he has 40 fantasy point upside.

Joe Harris – BKN vs WAS – The former star of Lake Chelan High School, Joe Harris has seen an uptick with his scoring and he has had 20+ fantasy points in each of his last three games.  He clearly has the green light to shoot from beyond the arc and is seeing time in more crucial stretches games.  These two teams are among the worst in the league from a defensive efficiency standpoint, so having a couple guys from this game is not a bad strategy.

Small Forward

Jae Crowder – BOS at HOU – The minutes certainly have been there for Crowder and the only thing missing since his return from injury is a forty fantasy point game.  This is the perfect opportunity where everything looks to be coming together in this game with a 219.0 projected point total.

Brandon Ingram – LAL vs UTA – With D’Angelo Russell and Nick Young out, the Lakers rookie has shifted to play more two-guard and now that Jose Calderon is out, there are stretches in tonight’s game against Utah where he may lend a hand in facilitating the offense against backup Jazz point guard Shelvin Mack.

Sam Dekker – HOU vs BOS – There is a very good chance that Trevor Ariza will miss tonight’s game with back spasms.  In each of his last three outings, Dekker has played 26+ minutes and he has produced just over 24 fantasy points in those three appearances.  Even though he will be down on the pecking order for the Rockets offensive attack, they will need him to be a tertiary scorer at times if Avery Bradley is able to impede James Harden at all.

Power Forward

Markieff Morris – WAS at BKN – Raise your hand if you have been burned by Markieff Morris this season.  Wow, there sure are a lot of us.  Tournaments only, but this is a phenomenal matchup for him and he does deserver just one more chance… right?

Trevor Booker – BKN vs WAS – Booker was out on Saturday due to illness, however, he has proclaimed himself healthy and has a nice matchup with his former team where he spent the first four years of his career.  Though he is not an integral part of the offense, he is nearly averaging a double double because he is always active in the paint and willing to fill the lane on fast breaks.

Enes Kanter – OKC at ATL – There is a decent chance that Steven Adams misses tonight’s game so pay attention to any news coming out of the Thunder for word on how Kanter and Joffrey Lauvergne may profit with additional minutes.  Depending on your site of choice, they may be listed as power forwards or centers.

John Henson – MIL vs SAS – It is always hard to trust Coach Jason Kidd, but Henson has averaged just under 25 minutes per game over his last four contests and he is averaging nearly 32 fantasy points during that stretch.  Remember, it is now Pau Gasol manning the paint for the Spurs and this is a good matchup for Henson and one that will likely be overlooked.

Joel Embiid – PHI vs DEN – Okay, he is not a true discount, but on FanDuel he is still just $6,400.  There is a good chance that Jahlil Okafor will miss this game with the flu, so that should get him up to the 26-28 minute range in a phenomenal matchup.
