NBA Bargains 11/26/2016
Welcome to the weekend! To celebrate, let us look at the nifty five-game main slate tonight and find the bargain plays that make our lineups hit the top of the standings. I am going to keep these under the $5,000 line for both FanDuel and DraftKings. Let’s go!
Tyler Johnson – MIA vs. MEM – $4,700 (FD), $4,800 (DK) –With Goran Dragic out, Johnson was a popular play Friday night and should be again, even against the Grizzlies and a low total. Tyler took 17 shots, scored 22 points and put nearly 35 DK points on the board without a single assist.
Ish Smith – DET at OKC – $4,900 (DK) – Probably some sort of revenge game narrative for Smith, who has been with every team in the league, but an excellent value on DK, where he needs 35 DK points for tournament value and can get there against the Thunder, who play at the league’s fifth fastest pace. Smith still ranks at the top of the league in drives per game and tenth in assist ratio. Ish just put up 32 DK points against the Clippers Friday night.
Danny Green – SAS at WAS – $4,200 (FD), $4,000 (DK) – As Spursianly untrustworthy as they come, Green has delivered a lot recently, scoring 22 DK points or more in four of his last five games. The Wizards are the ninth worst defensively rated team in the league this year and the game total is 203.5, indicating that it won’t be the 185-190 totals we are familiar with seeing with the Spurs.
Courtney Lee – NYK at CHA – $3,700 (FD), $3,700 (DK) – Lee is not going to be a 30 fantasy point guy, but in a cash game his massive minutes can come in handy and he can get to the 4x/5x +10 value threshold in this matchup, especially if Carmelo Anthony rests a bit after a huge night against these same Hornets Friday night in Madison Square Garden.
Marcus Morris – DET at OKC – $4,900 (FD), $4,700 (DK) – Morris will get his minutes in an uptempo game and will be overlooked as he had 22 minutes Friday night against the Clippers due to a coach-induced foul trouble situation (ended with 4 fouls in 22 minutes, which is fewer minutes/availability than if he fouled out, I would imagine).
James Johnson – MIA vs. MEM – $4,100 (FD), $4,400 (DK) – One more time for the Neck-Tat, who has been great filling in the time and usage while Justise Winslow has been out. If Winslow misses again, fire up Johnson, who just scored 31 and 26.50 DK points his last two games out.
Frank Kaminsky – CHA vs. NYK – $4,600 (FD), $4,800 (DK) – Frank the Tank, Uncle Frank, whatever you want to call him, will see more time with the injury to Marvin Williams, who is doubtful to play tonight after getting hurt Friday night against the Knicks. Kaminsky came in and played all of Marvin’s minutes in the second half, and stayed active offensively with Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum, especially in overtime.
Jon Leuer – DET at OKC – $4,400 (FD), $4,500 (DK) – I like Jon Leuer’s double-double caliber game and he should see a lot of action tonight against the bigs of Oklahoma City. Leuer has maintained a 26 DraftKings points per 30 minutes rate which would suit him well in this uptempo game with a 205 game total.
Joakim Noah – NYK at CHA – $4,600 (FD), $4,500 (DK) – He played limited minutes on the front end of this back to back, and in games past, Noah has always played closer to his regular 25 minute limit. Noah averages 25 DK points per 25 minutes, and is a peripherals beast, so if Carmelo does rest more this game after a long, productive game in NYK Friday night, Noah could have more rebounds to corral.
Cody Zeller – CHA vs. NYK – $4,500 (FD), $4,500 (DK) – Zeller saw 22 minutes last night and was active in that time, but Roy Hibbert played the second most minutes he has played all season and the most since Opening Night. That will likely change on the back end of this back to back and with Marvin missing time, Zeller, Uncle Frank and Spencer Hawes will have all the minutes they can handle tonight.
Good luck and good winning tonight! – JW
