Now let’s get down to business with some insight from DraftCheat!

Tonight on FantasyDraft, we have a fine $11,000 Home Run with a reasonable $25 entry fee and a 30 entry limit so we will not see the field overrun by anyone one player with deep pockets. With 28 teams are in action and a host of top-end pitching options and some of the most hitting friendly venues in play, here are some of the players I am eyeing for my tournament lineups.

Starting Pitcher

Stephen Strasburg – WAS at OAK – $23,200 – The Nationals’ right-hander has been rolling recently and gets the nod from me as the #1 pitcher on the slate, even over Clayton Kershaw. The matchup in Oakland is a good one for Strasburg against an A’s team that has the 4th highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season at 25.1%. Strasburg will also benefit from pitching in a very pitcher-friendly park in Oakland and should build on his solid run of starts.

Dallas Keuchel – HOU at TEX – $21,300 – It’s a good day to spend up at both pitcher spots if you can find enough value bats that pique your interest, and on a 14-game slate we should be able to do so. Keuchel is back to pitching like the 2015 Cy Young winner after battling injury last year, and despite pitching in a tough environment in Texas tonight, there should be plenty of strikeouts here for Keuchel against a very undisciplined and left-handed heavy Rangers team. The Rangers chase a ton of pitches outside of the strike zone and Keuchel should eat them alive with his masterful command. He’s worth the price tag tonight.

Infield

Joey Votto – CIN vs ATL – $10,200 – The Reds’ first baseman is on fire recently after a slow start to the season and gets a beautiful matchup against Braves’ RHP Mike Foltynewicz who has long struggled against left-handed bats. The Reds have one of the highest team totals on the night and Votto should be one of the bats doing the damage. He has a strong claim to be the top overall hitter tonight.

Matt Adams – ATL at CIN – $7,200 – Assuming he makes the lineup (sore knee) after getting a game off on Wednesday and no game on Thursday, the new Braves’ first baseman is a strong play against the horrendous Bronson Arroyo who has served up a truly eye-popping 4.22 HR/9 to left=handed hitters on the season. Adams has plenty of power and will benefit from hitting today in Great American Ballpark which should accentuate his strengths. Look for Adams to send one deep into the seats tonight in Cincinnati.

Outfield

Matt Kemp – ATL at CIN – $9,000 – The Braves’ outfield is destroying baseballs this season, sporting a .417 wOBA vs. right-handed pitching. We want to roster power hitters against Arroyo, and while the Braves don’t have many that fit the bill, Kemp certainly does and he makes for a great middle-of-the-order mini stack with teammate Matt Adams (written up above).

Aaron Altherr – PHI vs SFG – $7,500 – The Phillies’ outfielder is having a fantastic season with the stick and tonight gets a great matchup against the Giants Ty Blach. Altherr’s biggest weakness is the strikeout, but that should not be an issue here as Blach has struck out just 10.5% of right-handed hitters he’s faced this season. Altherr should be teeing off in this matchup and makes for a great price-saving option in the outfield with plenty of upside built in.

Good luck out there tonight! ~ DraftCheat
