MLB Pitching Prognostication 9/14/16 (Early)

These last few days in the MLB have featured extremely tough pitching slates, and that trend continues this afternoon. There’s only one or two viable options on this slate and you’d be taking a risk with anyone else. I won’t single out any pitcher as there isn’t much to choose from, so I’ll just explain my thought process.

LHP Madison Bumgarner is my top option on the slate with Jon Lester being the second. To be honest, I’ll try to fit both in and find as many value bats as I can. This isn’t a strategy I ever use but considering how bad pitching is, I don’t see another option. With this being a day slate, certain players will have rest days and can open up some value. If you want to take a risk on Michael Pineda that’s fine as well, considering he can rack up strikeout regardless of the matchup.

Overview

I would target Bumgarner and Lester and find as many value bats as possible. If you want to take a shot on an SP2, Pineda seems like a decent choice. I will be avoiding the afternoon games and focusing on the main slate but if I had to play it, this would be my approach. Till next time, party animals!
