FanDuel NFL Value Plays: Week 7

Let’s find some low-cost value plays at each position so you can mix/match your lineups to take down your tournaments this week. Value here are represented by $6,900 or less for quarterbacks, $6,500 or less for running backs/wide receivers, $5,500 or less on tight ends, $4,500 for kicker and $4,500 and lower for defenses.

We’re looking at Sun-Mon slate only, so if you are wondering about the Packers and Bears, there is plenty of value to be found  considering all the injuries, but you won’t find them in this article. Any questions, hit me up in the Comments Area or reach out to me on Twitter @JasonWalkerDFS.

Colin Kaepernick – SF vs. TB – $6,500 –  Despite the cross country trip and playing the 10th best defense in the league in the Bills, in their house, Kaepernick emerged with 18.10 points, nearly 3x his salary last week. This week, at home, against a much more QB friendly defense in the Buccaneers, Kaep’s salary only went up $100. That puts 4x value firmly in play here in a game that has Kaepernick as the highest team total among the sub 7K QBs this week.

Cody Kessler – CLE at CIN – $6,600 – The game script will scream for passing, as the Browns are both ten point underdogs here and against a Bengals defense that is better against the run (18th per Football Outsiders) than the pass (24th).

Running Backs:

Theo Riddick – DET vs. WAS – $6,300 – Clearly contingent on getting the go-ahead to play (he did not practice on Wednesday), should Riddick play he steps into a situation where he goes up against a Washington defense that ranks 30th in Adjusted Line Yards and 31st overall.

Giovani Bernard – CIN vs. CLE – $6,300 – With Jeremy Hill still limited by his chest and shoulder injuries, Bernard is in line to see the most touches in the Bengals backfield against a Browns run defense that is 26th in Adjusted Line Yards per Football Outsiders. Bernard even got the redzone/goalline touches last week, a further indictment of Hill’s injury woes.

Tevin Coleman – ATL vs. SD – $6,200 – Coleman didn’t see the huge workload in Week 6, but he was almost even with Devonte Freeman in snaps last week. Against the Chargers (21st ranked against the run) and at home on the fast track of the Georgia Dome, Coleman is a sneaky tourney value here.

Jacquizz Rodgers – TB at SF – $5,600 – Only New Orleans, Indianapolis and San Diego have afforded more points to the RB position this season that the 49ers. Chasing big performances like Rodgers’ huge day in Week 6 is bad, but he’s in an even better spot here and will be a very popular play this week.

Wide Receivers:

Pierre Garcon – WAS at DET – $6,100 – Detroit has the second worst pass defense in the league so far, Washington is the highest Vegas game total among road dogs this week, and Garcon has been getting targets, including 11 last week with Jordan Reed out.

Tyrell Williams – SD at ATL – $6,100 – In the highest forecasted game of the week, the Chargers always seem to be in the middle of a shootout. With Travis Benjamin missing practice, more attention could be on Williams, but either way, with the Falcons with a bottom ten pass defense of their own, Williams is a good play.

Allen Hurns – JAX vs. OAK – $6,000 – Hurns led the team in targets last week and is in great shape at home against the Raiders here since the Jaguars absolutely cannot run the football, leaving Blake Bortles having to throw, throw, throw. The Jags have a 25 point implied team total in a 48.5 Vegas line, meaning very much offense.

Kenny Britt – LAR vs. NYG – $6,200 – You hate to chase points, but the Giants are vulnerable through the air (19th against the pass), the Rams are three point underdogs at home, and Britt has had 12 catches on 14 targets over the past two weeks.

Tight Ends:

Dennis Pitta – BAL at NYJ – $5,300 – Love attacking the Jets through the air, and without Steve Smith, Pitta led the team in targets with ten lasts week. The Jets are 21st in the league at defending the TE and dead last against the pass overall.

Gary Barnidge – CLE at CIN – $5,200 – Barnidge may have to shoulder more of the load with Terrelle Pryor likely questionable for Sunday’s game, a game in which the Browns are considerable underdogs to the Bengals (-10).

Jack Doyle – IND at TEN – $4,700 – With Dwayne Allen banged up and the Colts looking at a being an underdog in Nashville, Doyle, who has been present quite often already in Indy, and is near min priced everywhere, becomes a top target for Andrew Luck in close range.

Kickers and Defense:

New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers – $4,400 – Landry Jones is not the dynamic passer that Ben Roethlisberger is, rendering the offensive weaponry in Pittsburgh relatively moot. Vegas has the Steelers at less than 20 points and the Patriots as seven point favorites.

Matt Bryant – ATL vs. SD – $4,700 – Dome kicker, home favorite, highest scoring game of the week. Don’t overthink it.

Good luck! – Jason
