DraftKings NFL Bargain Plays Week 12

Quarterback – below $6,500

Thursday

Kirk Cousins – WAS at DAL – $5,900

Kirk Cousins is coming off one of his best outings of his career in the 42-24 win over Green Bay on Sunday night. It’s a short turnaround for Cousins and the Redskins as they take on the Cowboys on Thanksgiving this year. Dallas has a top ten run defense, but their pass defense is less than stellar. Cousins’ price tag remains down at a cheap enough level to make him viable on the three game slate.

Sam Bradford – MIN at DET – $5,100

While going to a total min-salary quarterback like Scott Tolzien may seem attractive, it is important to see Bradford at just 100 more on this slate. The game sits at a 41.5 over/under but Bradford should be able to give you enough against a Detroit Lions defense that ranks dead last against the pass according to DVOA on FootballOutsiders.com.

Sunday

Derek Carr – OAK vs CAR – $6,100

Derek Carr has had a bit of an uneven year. He has an extremely high ceiling, but his floor remains wildly inconsistent week over week. This week, Carr gets a home matchup with the Carolina defense that has struggled throughout the year. The Panthers have clawed their way back to a respectable status with their pass defense, but are still in the bottom half of the league. With a 49.5 over/under and just a minus-3.5 spread, this game should provide plenty of fantasy goodness.

Ryan Tannehill – MIA vs SF – $5,600

While Jay Ajayi is going to be the easy player to target from this contest, we shouldn’t ignore everything Ryan Tannehill could do against the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco yielded 444 total yards last week along with four touchdowns through the air. Tannehill has struggled with consistency again this year but is in a great spot to exceed value here.

Joe Flacco – BAL vs CIN – $5,300

Somehow or another, the Baltimore Ravens sit in first place in their division. The Bengals, on the other hand, look to be on the fast track to the bottom of the AFC. Marvin Lewis’ bunch has struggled against the pass and the run on the year. Flacco may not be the most attractive or sexy quarterback, but he’s able to exploit good matchups.

Running Back – below $5,000

Carlos Hyde – SF at MIA – $4,800

Carlos Hyde isn’t someone we’ll be running to roster this weekend, but at a price point devoid of talent and plays, he makes our list here. Hyde had a decent showing last week and head coach Chip Kelly has mentioned many times over he wants Hyde to be the focal point of this offense. Miami is a middling team against the run and if Hyde does, in fact, get a concerted effort from his coaches to get him the ball, he could be in line for a good day.

Bilal Powell – NYJ vs NE – $4,600

The New York Jets aren’t very good. This much is known. But value at running back is fairly scarce this week and Bilal Powell is a cheap part of the Jets offense that should see some work against the Patriots. The Pats are 21st in pass DVOA against opposing running backs and Powell is coming off one of his best efforts last week.

Wide Receiver – below $5,000

Thursday

Adam Thielen – MIN at DET – $4,000

We await news on Stefon Diggs. In the meantime, we can dream of Thanksgiving lineups bolstered by the likes of Adam Thielen. Heading into last Sunday’s game, the Vikings coaching staff was talking up getting Thielen more targets. He only saw five targets, but hauled all of them in and scored. He’s now been targeted at least five times in five of his last six games. If Diggs happens to miss, Thielen could be in line for an uptick in targets against the worst pass defense in the league.

Pierre Garcon – WAS at DAL – $3,900

There is no one with less appeal than Pierre Garcon. We can recognize that and still see Garcon as a good play against this Dallas secondary. The Cowboys rank 25th in passing DVOA and are a bit soft over the middle. With the full PPR scoring on DraftKings, Garcon should remain in consideration on the short slate of games.

Sunday

Tyler Boyd – CIN vs BAL – $4,500

The choice for owners targeting this game, and you may not want to, will come down to Tyler Boyd or Brandon LaFell being the biggest beneficiary of the AJ Green injury. It would look like Tyler Boyd is more likely to slide into Green’s routes, leaving LaFell to man the same routes he has throughout the year. Baltimore’s defense is legitimate but their pass defense has been porous at times this year. The wide receivers available just above our value price point may serve you better, but Boyd could be in for a heavy target day.

Eddie Royal – CHI vs TEN – $3,800

The wheels have really come off the Chicago Bears season. With the Jay Cutler injury and the Alshon Jeffrey suspension, there aren’t many offensive weapons remaining for Chicago. Eddie Royal was a seeming afterthought even last week, but now Zach Miller is also out. Royal should see more than his fair share of targets against Tennessee and might be able to help out your bottom line.

Tajae Sharpe – TEN vs CHI – $3,700

Back to back weeks with a score can make a somewhat disappointing season disappear very quickly. After a breakout pre-season campaign that had a great deal of fantasy analyst salivating, it’s taken a bit of time for Titans’ rookie wideout Tajae Sharpe to get into the flow of the regular season. Over the last two weeks, Sharpe seven receptions on 11 targets with two scores. The Bears defense struggles against the pass and Tennessee should have a fairly easy time moving the football to whomever they choose.

Tight End – below $4,000

Gary Barnidge – CLE vs NYG – $3,700

Josh McCown is back under center for the Cleveland Browns and thus, Gary Barnidge is back in our lives. The one spot the New York Giants have struggled on the year is defending the tight end position and Barnidge should be heavily involved this Sunday.

CJ Fiederowicz – HOU vs SD – $3,300

In a fairly lost season for the Houston Texans offense, CJ Fiederowicz has been a nice story. Fiederowicz has become a key possession receiver for Brock Osweiller. He has 25 receptions over the past five weeks and continues to stack targets each week. San Diego is a middle of the pack team against the tight end and could be targeted here.

Defense/Special Teams – below $3,400

Thursday

Steelers – PIT at IND – $2,800

This is an easy flow chart? Do you believe in Scott Tolzien? Yes? Good luck. No? Play the Steelers defense.

Sunday

Saints – NO vs LA – $2,800

The Jared Goff experiment continues into Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. The Rams offense is mediocre at best and the rookie quarterback should see pressure from the Saints defense.
