NASCAR Picks: Bristol Food City 500

Bristol Food City 500 It’s been a long time since Red Byron took the first checkered flag here at Bristol Motor Speedway back in the fall of 1949. His ’49 Oldsmobile beat out 14 other cars as he was the first to complete the required 100 laps needed to win the race that season. A lot has changed since then as the drivers of the Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series will take a stab at taming the ‘World’s Fastest Half Mile’. At least 500 laps will be needed to win the 57th Annual Food City 500 when the green...

NASCAR Picks: Texas O’Reilly Auto Parts 500

The drivers of Nascar are headed to Texas Motor Speedway to run the 21st Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts 500. This is the seventh scheduled event on the circuit and by the looks of it this should be a good one. Already we have seen a few drivers not make it through inspection to even get on the track to qualify. I understand they need to have rules and abide by them but it seems the current system that Nascar uses for inspection certainly puts some teams at a disadvantage. NASCAR Picks: Martinsville STP 500

The Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series heads back east this weekend to run the STP 500 here in Martinsville, Virginia after a successful run out west. It will take at least 500 laps to complete Sunday’s race so it’s a good idea to try to grab a few drivers who you think will be able to lead a lot of laps and not get caught up in a wreck in the process. We saw rain cancel out qualifying on Friday so the drivers will have to rely on the practice sessions to figure out how to get around this...

The drivers of the Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series head to Fontana, California for the fifth race of the season and already there is big news as we head toward the green flag Sunday afternoon. Kyle Larson – $9,100 has finished well enough in the first four races to lead the field in the standings with 184 points. To make matters better the driver of the #42 Target Chevrolet has won the pole and will start at the front of the pack. The knock on Larson last year was that he could always qualify well but had trouble keeping...

NASCAR Picks: Phoenix

The Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series remains out west this week as the drivers get set to take on the one mile asphalt track in Avondale, Arizona. Phoenix International Raceway has been hosting Nascar Cup races since 1988 and was awarded a second race in the 2005 season which saw both Busch brothers winning the races that season. Since then a few drivers have been able to win multi races here at Phoenix with Kevin Harvick leading the way with eight wins which is the most of any driver at this track. Jimmie Johnson has won four times here...
